“GYROTONIC® has opened up a whole new world for me! I started it to recover from a shoulder injury and from lower back pain I had had for years. Neither has given me trouble again. […] The personal attention is EXCELLENT; it lets you work on whatever you need each day.”

FAQ

Questions people often ask me

What is the difference between the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods?
They are two parts of the same system, created by Juliu Horvath. The GYROTONIC® method uses equipment designed specifically for it, which guides the movement and offers resistance. I teach it in private sessions. The GYROKINESIS® method works with the same principles without equipment: seated on a stool, on a mat and standing. It can be practised in groups or in online classes.
Is it like pilates?
No. Both use equipment, but the movement is very different. Pilates works mainly in straight lines. With the GYROTONIC® method the body moves in spirals and curves, the way it naturally moves. That is why it is so good for the spine and the joints. The resistance is different too: the pilates reformer uses springs, which pull in one direction. GYROTONIC® equipment uses pulleys and weights, so the resistance follows you smoothly and continuously, in every direction.
Do I need experience, flexibility or to be fit?
No. Dancers and athletes come, but so do people who haven't exercised in years. I adapt every session to your body and your starting point. Flexibility and strength come with practice; you don't need them beforehand.
Can I do it if I have an injury, scoliosis or back pain?
Yes, and it is one of the things I work with most. Before we start we talk about your history and what your doctor or physiotherapist has told you, and I adapt the movements so you work safely and without pain. If you are in treatment, the method supports it.
What happens in the first session?
We start by talking a little: how you are, what brings you, whether you have any injuries or discomfort. Then I teach you the basic movements and the breathing, at your own pace. You leave knowing how the method works and what we can work on together.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes that let you move and aren't too loose, so I can see how you move. We practise in socks.
How often should I come?
Once or twice a week is a good rhythm to notice changes. If you want faster results or are recovering from something, two or three times a week is ideal at the beginning.
Where are the classes and how do I book?
In Madrid, at C/ Serrano 6 and C/ General Arrando 6. I also teach online. To book, message me on WhatsApp at +34 623 20 25 77 or send me an email through the contact form. I reply within 24 hours.

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
